    Compiled with Python 2.5.2 and MSVC on XP SP2.

    Updated patch with latest SVN changes. I updated the patch so I can start working on Antialiasing again.

    * Fix: Switching between Mat/World/Lamp/Brush in Texture buttons windows crashes Blender
    * Fix: Had to bump the BLENDER_SUBVERSION to 7. The texture preview didn't work when Blender first starts up. I traced the problem
    to preview.blend.c and I have no idea how to set that file up. This means textures created with older patched builds won't read
    in newer patched builds.

    You are most welcome.

    One thing I should mention is that the Tiles texture is very slow to evaluate. So your node editor will not update as quickly as it does without it.

    Beware of this build on Vista (32 bit) - while working...at first... after a while it will give "Access Violation" error - and you wonīt be able to start Blender again!

    Hi Wizard - No need to apologize - Everyone is on their own downloading "TEST" versions of Blender of course ;) I just wrote this to WARN those others if they where to try this particular version on VISTA so they donīt get messed up files or system. Keep up the good work!

    OK. So the new build is up and it has one problem: do not hit F5/F6 right after starting up blender. Instead use the button windows. Don't know why its happening at the start but once you switch, it woks fine with the shortcuts. This one adds all standard textures and mine as nodes.

    Hi Wizard and thanks for the great texture.

    Regarding what Papa Smurf was saying about auto names. I think this is when you add a new texture you can click the little car icon and it automatically gives the texture a name. So if you added the clouds texture and hit the little car it would change the name of the texture from "Tex" to "Clouds" So it would be nice if the Tiles texure did this as well if it doesn't at the moment.

    No way! I never noticed that button before. I wonder why! I'm sure its an easy fix. I'll provide a new patch once I can resolve another issue. Jaco has found that with this patch blenderplayer cannot be compiled.

    This is a great feature. I love it. It was just what I needed to create the texture for the eyes for my butterfly. :)

    One suggestion, if possible. It would be nice if a spherical projection of the tiles didn't have distorted parts at the poles of the sphere. Maybe that's another patch altogether, but if you can swing it with this one, perhaps by using polar coordinates, it would be wonderful.

    I can't seem to get this patch to compile. I'm sure I must be doing something wrong, but I get all kinds of errrors in readfile.c. Any suggestions?

    Rben13: That would change the meaning for Sphere mapping in general. Maybe you can write it in python... where you can turn a rectangular UV-map to a distortion-free map. Here's the link:

    See the section on Texture Map Correction For Spherical Mapping. I'm no python expert but it might be possible to manipulate a uv coords of a mesh.

    As for compile issues, which patch file are you using and what platform. Also what kind of errors? I'm at work right now but I will be on IRC this evening. You can also get some help on IRC from some of the people on #blendercoders.

    I got it working. I just didn't know how to do a patch properly.

    I love the tile patch. You've done a great job.

    The link looks helpful, too. It looks as if I could just create an image map for the texture, then distort it in Gimp or PaintShop Pro, and use that.

    Rben13: Good, ya got me scared for a bit. As for that link, I've used it before in my own raytracer and it works pretty cool. I'm not sure if something similar is already available but you can always create a plugin for GIMP to do it.

    Bug: in the Texture Buttons when you select Tiles and then press the Lamp button in the Preview Panel Blender Crashes!

    can not create a data tree for clothes and hair.SVN 16 is incomplete.wait for the next fix.I like the tile very cool!

    Feature Request!
    Is this possible to add "Dots" in the Predefined Pattern List because we have this only as a Texture PlugIn "Dots" and not Internal!
    And if possible use of Filter Types!

    @Billy: I think predefined patterns should be complicated enough to warrant an extra item in that list. For dots you can simply set the size parameters for corner style and set it to Round. However full blown random dots are not possible because of variation in tile width/height. Also, what do you mean by Filter Types?
