    On XP Pro (OEM) platform this build crashes on my desktop, if a soft body modifier is added. Any ideas why?

    Try the fluid. Use the default cube, physics tab, enable fluid and then select DOMAIN. Note what happens, the cube changes to an orb with a bump map type of thing.

    Is the domain meant to be an orb? Should it remain a cube like the domain used in Smoke?

    A bug possibly?

    If you ADD Cone you end up with the same thing as if you ADD CIRCLE ..

    It is clear that user's need a clear list of what is being integrated with each build so we can do our testing in an organized manner. For example, if the GUI is only 70% tested from a feature point of view then we need to know what features are missing. The same is true with all of the other features in 2.5. Is there a document which tracking the software verification effort? I have 3 modeling and animation artists who would like to contribute but do not know where to start or what the Blender Development Team's definition of stable is for each feature.

    @Andrew: The OGL drivers for Intel chipsets SUCK. My work desktop does the same thing.

    For opengl, there's really only two main competitors. ATI(AMD) and Nvidia. Other than that, if you haven't already, go to the manufacturer's web site and check for updated drivers. Best of luck.

    I started it up with a myriad selection of other programs running like Adobe Lightroom, Google Chrome, Trillian, and I can't remember what else.

    The console window showed up with a weird message i can't quite remember. It looked like jibberish: not the usual "python found" just "P-301 JXQR59(W dlkj ..." I didn't get a good chance to read it because next thing I know I hear "click! click! BOOM!" Black. And my computer reset.

    I ran it again after restarting and it came up, but I can't help but wonder what the hellll happened?

    in GameEngine after making several amendments to the press P or entering the game all objects disappear cubes, pyramids, and others.

    As always at first: thanks for the builds!

    Got one simple question on loop cuts, in < v2.50 you would automatically be able to slide before making a loop cut and then confirm. In any of the builds I tried though I didn't see this functionality. Will it be back again? Am I doing something wrong? Anyway, I would miss it, a lot.

    When I try to export key configuration Blender crashes.

    to add a background image. First go to the Image Editor window and add it there.

    After that you can assign a background image to the view (press N to get the sidebar option).

    Although these builds are nice for tinkering, they are far too unstable/incomplete to be doing anything with it. It's possible to crash them in a few clicks, at some point after doing stuff, the UI loses it's abilty to read input (buttons and all stop working).

    I can't imagine the Durian team actually getting anything done at this stage, and if they do, well, awesome :)

    It is now possible to add some fancyness to your comments!, with bold, italic and underline.

    Also it is now possible to add links with the html tag, like this neat site for pasting code or blend files :)

    build: r24339 win32

    Works good, no problems about modeling and manage of the ngon faces, here a small list of "bugs":

    1* If I try to join 2 mesh blender crash
    2* multiresolution crash
    3* flat and smooth shading option work just in edit mode.
    4* If I work with Bmesh, edgeloops dont work fine
    5* unwrap sometimes has problem with bmesh, sometimes not.

    Great stuff! :) Does anyone know if the new Hair Dynamics supports collision? I can't figure out how to make the dynamic hair collide with the mesh... If it's not supported, is there any way to use the old method for hair dynamics (using soft body on particles) in v2.5?

    Problem when exporting to Collada (dae) format-- a .blend I previously had with animations exports with the library_animations tag filled in, but a newly animated mesh exports with library_animations empty.

    may be its a noob question, but when I try to run blender.exe it says ..

    failed to initiate properly (0xc0150002). Click on ok to terminate the application..

    I have win xp sp2..

    How can I make this work?

    Thanks for the build.

    On my 9600xt, textured mode not working - just displaying a plain white (unshaded) objects. The materials/texture will be shown correctly in 'Play' mode and will revert back to plain white when exiting 'Play' mode (ESC).

    DJ: Upgrade to service pack 3. Do all the important windows updates after that. Update your motherboard drivers and your video drivers. Make sure you have Visual C++ Redistributable for GraphicAll Builds.

    maxdelphi: if you want people to watch your example movie, don't make them download it, just put it on youtube or vimeo etc...
