    Description

    This is the long awaited win32 build of the sim_physics branch including the new voxel data patch by farsthary!

    Everything is enabled. No optimizations.

    PS: I have also included the voxel data executable, example and paper. Although I have not had time to try it myself.

     

    EDIT: After some messing around it appears that this build also includes tex nodes!

     

    Update: I have made a different build with MinGW this one does run on my XP machine and my Vista Machine

    If it still doesnt work comment and I will see if I can help.

     

    Update: Added: * Multithreaded volume light cache

    This is a small addition by broken that speeds up the rendering of volumes by multithreading the lights.

     

    Update: Added Volume rendering: multiple scattering

     

    Update: Lots of bug fixes and small updates

    Do you get any errors? anything at all that might help explain the problem?
    It was compiled on Vista so that may be part of the problem...

    I just tested it and it appears to only work on vista ATM. I will see what is causing this and try to fix the problem as soon as I have time. BTW the smoke.exe that farsthary compiled that is included with the build seems to be the opposite it only works on XP.

    That is strange, It wasn't working on my XP machine either... Anyways as stated above the new build works so, enjoy!

    Hi !

    Where can I find the "volume" button? I can not find volume button in shaders panel !

    PeeT76: It's the drop-down menu at the bottom of the Links and Pipeline panel ... default setting is 'Solid'.

    Sorry for the late reply... PeeT76: The reason you cannot find the button is that it doesnt exist anymore. It was moved to the very bottom of the Links and Pipline panel..(where you select you material)

    I got a RENDER-PROBLEM:

    When i render a scene i see that PRECACHING in % on the top of the render-window.

    On frame 1 blender precaches volume 1time.
    On frame 2 the same.

    Then on Frame 3 the volume will be precached 2 times.
    At frame 13 the volume is 7 times precached.

    ... i think there is a bug- is someone here with the same problem?

    Also: i canīt render to any avicodec.

    Sorry I am only the builder :(
    I have no idea how to fix the problem you are experiencing, It might be a good idea to talk to matt(broken) or farthsary.

    IT CRASH ON ME ,AND MATERIAL PREVIEW WOULD NOT UPDATE THE OBJECT NEW SETTING.i DID A SOFT BODY ANIMATION -- IT SUCK.!

    @Dennis F: please send this description and the blend file to Farsthary so that he can have a look

    YELLOW: the preview update is slower but works. Remember that volumetric rendering require a lot of calculations: It takes about 2-5s on my pentium 1.7 Ghz for material preview update depending on the volumetric complexity...(linux build)

    I tried to build with Volumetric but also with lightcut and I wondered if it was difficult to create and publish a build with these two features together. It would be fantastic!

    I cannot render my voxeldata-files. Everytime i start rendering it, blender crashes with out any specific error message. I used the new voxeldata format given by farsthary, with four int32 values for the resolution and number of frames. resolution was 64x64x64 and three frames. but the size and number of frames does not matter.

    I have no ability to understand or fix these errors sorry :(
    I recommend contacting farthsary or Matt, see if they can help.
