Description Warning: This build is only for testing. Not meant for production use, yet. Please uninstall previous builds before installing this new build. This is an update to my previous build. If the previous build was disappointing try this one. ;-) If you find the render speeds are low, repeat the render again to see if the speed has improved, else report it here with your specs. My builds contain integrated SSE2 and SSE3 support combined. I combined SSE2 & SSE3 support into one build to make it easy for users that have difficulties in determining their processor type and inadvertently downloading the wrong SSE? build. Due to this combined support, you may find that the SSE3 performance is the same with SSE2 on first use, but improves subsequently. This minor problem could be resolved by an exclusive SSE3 build if it truly is an issue. If you deem results of this SSE2+SSE3 build unsatisfactory, feel free to request for an exclusive SSE3 build. -Ad

This seems to be an nice build for my system, I have a AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (SSE2 and 3 compatible..) and render time was reduced compared too vanilla Blender. :)

    Vanilla: 00:55:32
    Your previous build: 00:39:27
    And this: 00:39:19

Not a very complex scene to render, but you can still see it . :S

Does this build have the settings for "Large Address Aware Optimized"?
I'm very happy with these "Large Address..." builds for SSE3. But your SSE2 / SSE3 would be more suitable for my plan to render within a network with different PCs.

All the dependencies (python, iconv, png, etc) including blender, blenderplayer and verse_server, are large address aware. Except for FFMPEG, as it was compiled using the MinGW (gcc for windows) compiler.

Let me know how well it works out for you.

for my current project the rendertimes are:

    official build 01:00:46
    SSE2 optimized 00:45:51
    this build 00:44:02

not that faster for me, but it was the first use.
maybe this works for the animation.(me hoping)

    Nice build.
Didn't tetsted the render times yet, but have regulary a "cannot read tiff header" message when browsing between screens with ctrl-arrows .

Great build, one minor request: is there a possibility to implement a pause rendering feature, more like check pointing to hard disk?

We at http://burp.boinc.dk/ are running distributed rendering and many members would like to pause rendering tasks when switching between projects.

    Thanks,

    Martin
Rendertime on standard blender 2.44: 28.70
    Rendertime with your build: 21.52

Works great on my P4/HT 3.4 Ghz, Thnx
