    Jens
    Hi
After testing for some hours now, I can say itīs o.k..
    Partikels + editmode is a bringer !!!!
Python 2.5 seems to give a good speed-boost.
    Thanks...Jens
    inazuma
any chance of getting a ppc build? would really love to test this system out.
    Jens
    @inazuma
You might have achance to find a PPC-build at :http://blender.edumetrics.org/
    Greetz...Jens
    Jens
    Hi
Build 05/02/07 is o.k. so far. New particel-sys is not
    downward-compatible ( to 27/01/07 build ) just to let
you know, so as you mentioned: experimental.
But it is great step foreward aniway !!! Greetz...Jens
    devrooo
    Hi,
    thx Jens....
no prob now is making build quite easy
    claas
anybody successful to get the particle tool to work.

where is the static function again? I did not look into the particle systems since some time.

also when I AM in particle mode and select a tool method blender just freezes and I try to do something with the particle. the moment i release the left mouse blender is responsive again!
    Jens
    Hi Claas
Static is now named "Objekt" when autobaking is activated. When
autobaking is working the for you, the programm seems to be freezed
for a short time, but it is baking ( no progressbar yet ). The new particles have much more parameters and is working a lot different from the old model.
So be patient to get an overview and test it. It is super-nice. For it is still in
development, things can change frome build to build, trying to get things
    better, so no worry.

    Greetz...Jens
    Bob
Where is the MAC-OSX PPC ? Because i test this patch with window but i work with Apple.
    Rasmus Andersen
As Bob asked, Where is the mac osx ppc build? :) It could be so nice to have a look at it, but i only have a Mac ppc. Any change that the patch is released to osx ppc? :D Could be so nice.

And i have looked a little on Edumetrics and can't find it. Can anybody tell me where it is? :D

    Jens
    Hi devroo
Again a good build. One question: did you manage to set the multithread-flag for open GL ? I saw the developer-videos from Appel and realized it should be simple to get openGl multithreaded ba adding only one line. Performance-boost should be remarkeble !
    Greetz....Jens
    axar
running mac os 10.4.8 I start the app and I get:

you cannot open the application blender.app because it is not supported on this architecture

is there some way I have to compile the downloaded file into my "official" copy of blender?

    http://www.python.org/ftp/python/2.5/python-2.5-macosx.dmg

this link loops me back to this page
    axar
oops... didn't notice that link also dowloaded a file...

but I still get that "not supported by this architecture" message.

    devroo
Sorry it's intel build and you have probably PPC
    Cuby
It won't open for me, and I'm on Intel running 10.4.8. When I double click the icon it attempts to open in the dock, but then quickly dissapears again.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.
    Cuby
No, sorry, it works fine now. I just had to install Python.
    Sorry, Cuby
    RNS
Thank you for the new patch.
    Have a good summer.

Argh, i compiled this time with scons and didn't check external links...
    I will fix it asap
    Sorry guys
    Jon
    :)
    Roger
Hi, i download Python 2.5 and install. Then download build. I replace the Blend.app archive with the new one in blender appl folder. Then execute blender. Nothing Happens. I have Imac.
    What i am doing wrong?
    Jens
    Hi
Devroo used another app to compile this time. īCause of changing
from CVS to SVN-Codesystem i suppose. It happens that some libraries
are not linked in this build. This may affect some configurations not
to start. No prob, devroo is informed and is doing a new build, he said.
    Stay tuned.
    Greetz...Jens
    Ted
Will there be a ppc build sometime?
    Roger
Ok. Thanks Jens. I am learning blender 2 weeks and i am fascinated, but i don't happy with my hair movement results. And i am was watching the youtubes videos of this patch and is awesome.
    Jens
    Hi Roger
These new particles are nice for sure, but keep in mind itīs still experimental.
I had compatibility issues with every new patch. ( had a super-nice boid fish-swarm, couldnīt get back the same results...)
So it might be useful to make best of old particles until they are part of the off. release.
In the meantime you can try the build from 25.02.07, it is blender 2.4.3 but
there is nothing essential but SSS, which is not in it.

    Hope this helps...Jens
    Jon
    Thank you devroo :)))
    Jens
    Hi devroo
    Build is o.k. now.
The newest yahka-patch is better than ever but sometimes unstable (crashing)
Just to let anyone + the developer know.

Thanks devroo for your work and bye until the next surprise....Jens
    *comment from the builder
    devroo
hi all, yep I noticed bigger instability in this build to .... maybe because just a lot new unfinished features ...
Jahka is on Vacation so we have to wait

Checking for installed Python... got it!

Is this a big problem, just a warning or leading into trouble ?

is ppc really dead in blender?
    Jens
    @ inazuma
Definitly not, but i think devroo mainly works on OSXi386.
So maybe you should have an eye on other builders too.

Hi all, i have working new particle build, but i have a little problem because is compilled on my new testing system 10.5 (last beta), so im not sure about compatibility with older Macosx.... I tested 64bit blender version, but bftlg (macosx display layer) isn't compatible with 64 bits yet :(
    Jens
    Hi devroo
Good to hear you are looking foreward to 64-Bit.
I have a big question. How do you get OSX-builds working generally. I tried
some ways and got really frustrated with cmake and Xcode. Could you give me a hint ? The different explanations on the web are puzzling me, seems that OSX is
more difficult to handle. BF-libs are not serving all dependancies ?
