    Description

    Blender 2.5 - Revision 23438 - Windows 32 Bit

    Important:
    This build was compiled with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. To run Blender, you need to install runtime components of Visual C++ libraries.

    Click here to download Visual C++ Redistributable

    This build includes: Physics Engine, Game Engine, FFMPEG, Elbeem, OpenAL, OpenEXR, OpenJPEG, QuickTime.

    Changelog:

    Commit by Aligorith :: 23438 /trunk/blender/source/blender/ (2 files in 2 dirs)

    Two Anim Bugfixes:

    • Loading old (2.4) files with keyframes now inits them properly so that keyframes are tagged as normal keyframes not breakdowns.
    • TrackTo consraint was flagged wrongly for adding it with a target. This meant that the target didn't get set when using the Ctrl+Shift+C hotkey.
    Commit by Jesterking :: 23437 /trunk/blender/ (5 files in 3 dirs)
    • Fixes for compiling with Scons/MinGW when BF_DEBUG=1. Needs SVN up in lib/windows, where I added necessary MinGW libs.
    Commit by Jesterking :: 23436 /trunk/lib/windows/python/lib/ (3 files)
    • MinGW libs (in particular for debug). Including the .def for regeneration of .lib whenever necessary.
    Commit by Aligorith :: 23435 /trunk/blender/source/blender/editors/interface/ (interface_panel.c view2d.c)

    Some UI tweaks as listed by William
    (http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/BlenderDev/Blender2.5/Todo/UserInterface)

    • Removed panel docking. "It is too easy to do by accident when reordering panels, is very hard to control and use, and has no real benefit."
    • Scoll bars have minimum size now, so that the 'thumb' doesn't disappear in long lists.
    Commit by Campbell Barton :: 23434 /trunk/blender/ (6 files in 3 dirs)

    Fly mode back as a modal operator view3d.fly

    • Access with the F key, Ctrl+Alt+F in editmode, View->Navigation menu.
    • Camera, perspective & 4split (perspective view only).
    • Uses modal keymap, (same as 2.4x).
    • Bugfix since 2.4x, when flying upside down, turning left/right was inverted.
    • Bugfix for "Align Camera To View", was using deprecated v3d->ofs rather then rv3d->ofs, fixed for NDof fly too. checked v3d->ofs is only used in readfile.c Todo.
    • Warping the cursor removed in 2.5, no way to place the cursor in the middle of the view.
    • Adding keyframes while in flymode to record the path is missing.
    • Not getting MMB mouse release events (used for pan). need to look into why.
    Commit by Aligorith :: 23433 /trunk/blender/source/blender/operators
    • Removing unused "operators" directory.
    Commit by Jesterking :: r23432 /trunk/lib/windows/python/ (34 files in 2 dirs)
    • Cleaning up Python directory, throwing out the garbage.
    Commit by Aligorith :: 23431 /trunk/blender/ (2 files in 2 dirs)

    A few quick bugfixes:

    • Vertex Groups list now has a more normal length (2 rows by default)
    • Copy vertex groups button now has an icon
    • Pose Sliding tools now allow events which it doesn't process to pass through (i.e. zooming the view now works, and also moving around using the numpad works too)
    Commit by Theeth :: 23430 /trunk/blender/release/io/netrender/ (6 files)
    Netrender:
    • First draft of HTML master details. Just point a browser at the master's address and port, et voilà. Gives a list of jobs and slaves and well as per frame status for each job and access to slave output logs per frame.

    i have a error:

    no module named _socket
    Lenny
    hm, an error occurs when trying to rotate two or more compositing nodes.
    Cire
    I get an error on startup: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

    Of course, this was not and cannot be 'installed'.

    btw: I'm on a 64-bit system, if that helps.

    Ciao a tutti!

    @ Cire:

    This build was compiled, as I said above, for Windows 32 bit. If you have Windows 64 bit, Blender doesn't run. You should download the version for your OS. And remember, you need Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable to run the program (Visual C++ 2008 Redist "x86" for 32 bit or "x64" for 64 bit).

    @ Moaaa and Lenny:

    I believe it's all normal. This is an experimental version. The code for the nodes and the modules will be completed later (two/three weeks?). However, if you think they are bugs, you could report them in the Bug Tracker of Blender 2.5.

    Build updated! (SVN 23438)
    Cire
    @ Bezel:

    I do have the "Visual C++ 2008 Redist x64" installed ... and generally have no issues running other 32-bit apps in the 64-bit OS (including other builds of 2.50).

    @ Cire:

    Maybe because the other builds were compiled for both the system. I have not 64-bit compiler installed on my machine. I'm sorry.

    Angelo
    Cire
    No trouble ... just hadn't seen it before, really.

    Thanks for your efforts in this, too! Between yourself and all the other builders, there's always an update to play with. Though currently, it's a bit more likely for x64 builds in linux, which isn't a problem.

    Best Regards!

    Thanks for this build! One thing I wanted to ask, since I tried some builds now and none of them had working shortcuts for e.g. knife, loop cut, brush select (don't know the name, 2x B-Key). The tools can be activated by space, and type e.g. "loop cut" though.
    So is it my machine (32bit Win7) or the builds?

    @ Janosch:

    You're welcome. Your system is okay. In Blender 2.5 shortcuts are different from 2.4. You can change them in Outliner Panel --> Key Maps. However, some of the features of Blender 2.5 are not completed.

    Angelo

    Hey Bezel,
    thx for making builds too. :)
    Due to school, my updates will be a bit slower then normal ;-)

    @ DingTo:

    You're welcome. Thank you so much for the numerous improvements that you're making to Blender 2.5! I will try to compile more frequently. For me is not a problem.

    Best regards,
    Angelo
